ICEA - Insurance Company of East Africa
The company was Started as a Merger between Eagle Star insurance company and welfare insurance company UK and the New Zealand insurance company. The 3 Companies joined force to create the ICEA in 1964. the company started writing general Insurance in 1st January 1965. The life insurance sector was started in 1966. The initial Establishment had 50 Staff at both Nairobi and Mombasa Offices.
in 1985 ICEA Formed FCS First chartered Securities and ICEA Became the companies flagship. the company started Chartered properties ltd. To manage its Growing Portfolio. the company was later acquired by Knight frank in the year 1998.
From its humble Beginning in 1964 the company grew consistentaly till date it is now a gross 3 Billion KSH Premium company and has assets worth 13 billion. It is the Biggest Insurance company in the Entire east africa. Currently it has offices in Uganda apart from its branches all over the country.
